# How we compare AI tools

We sell an AI receptionist, so you should know exactly how this directory works before you trust it. Here is how we choose vendors, where every fact comes from, how lists are ordered, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

> **We make Vocenya. Here’s how we rank, and where others may fit you better.** Every vendor here, ours included, is shown with the same fields, sourced from its own website and ordered by the same published rule. Nobody pays to be listed. Where another tool may fit you better, we say so.

## Our conflict of interest

Vocenya is an AI receptionist made by GH Business Solutions, and this directory is published on our website. That is a conflict of interest, and we handle it in four ways:

1. **Same fields, same rule.** Vocenya appears with exactly the fields every other vendor has, and goes through the same ordering rule. It is labelled "Our product" wherever it appears.
2. **Our ad is labelled as an ad.** The featured Vocenya card at the top of some lists is our own promotion and says so. It is not a ranking.
3. **We say where others fit better.** Every vendor page has a "Who it’s for" line, and our own profile lists its limits, including that Vocenya has no two-way AI texting agent.
4. **Nobody pays to be listed.** There are no affiliate links, sponsored placements or paid listings in this directory.

## How we choose vendors

We list tools that small and local businesses in the US can buy to answer calls, texts or website chats, plus the live answering services they are often compared with. A vendor is included only if its own website lets us confirm what the product does and at least a few of the facts in our table. We drop vendors we cannot verify rather than guess. Developer platforms are included because people search for them, and are labelled "Developer platform" so nobody mistakes a toolkit for a finished product.

## Where every fact comes from

Every fact comes from the vendor’s own public website: pricing, product, documentation, security and integration pages. Each fact links to the page we read it on and shows the date we checked it. We copy prices as published, with their billing basis (monthly or annual billing, and what a plan includes). If a vendor does not publish something, the table says **Not published**; that is not the same as "no". We write "No" only when the vendor’s own page says it does not offer the feature.

We do not publish star ratings, review counts, user numbers or "best" awards, because we cannot verify them the same way.

## How lists are ordered

Each list names five checks that matter for that kind of tool, shown in its table, for example "Books appointments", "Transfers calls to a person", "Publishes a price", "Free trial or free plan" and "Spanish listed". The order is mechanical:

1. Vendors that meet more of the page’s checks, with a published and sourced fact, come first.
2. Ties go to vendors that publish a price.
3. Remaining ties are alphabetical.

A check is only met by something the vendor publishes, so a vendor can move up by publishing more. You can re-sort any table by price or name. The starting price is the lowest published price for a month of service; when it requires annual billing, the basis under the price says so.

## How we keep it current

Every vendor is re-checked at least every 90 days: we open each source link, update what changed and record the new date. A weekly job lists any vendor that is overdue. Pages that do not have enough verified vendors to be useful are kept out of search engines until they do.

## Corrections

If you work for a vendor, or you spot a mistake, send a correction below with a link to the page on the vendor’s own website that shows the right information. We read every correction, update the listing when the vendor’s site supports the change, and record the new check date.

The checks lists can be ordered by:

- Books appointments
- Transfers calls to a person
- Two-way AI texting
- Website chat
- HIPAA or BAA stated
- Publishes a price
- Free trial or free plan
- Spanish listed
- Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan
- Google or Microsoft calendar
