# How to forward your business calls to Vocenya

Help Center · Phone and forwarding · Updated 2026-10-04

**In short:** Keep your number and forward its calls to your Vocenya number. Most carriers use a short dial code; RingCentral and Google Voice use a setting. Codes for each carrier are below, ready to copy.

You don't need to change your business number to use Vocenya. You forward it. Calls to your number go on to your Vocenya number, and your AI receptionist answers. Callers never notice a difference.

## How forwarding works

1. Your Vocenya number is on your **Overview** page in Vocenya.
2. You tell your phone company to send calls to it. On most lines that is one code you dial from your business phone.
3. You call your business number from another phone to check that Vocenya answers.

The same steps are in Vocenya. On your **Overview** page, the **Keep your existing number** card shows them for the phone company you pick. That card appears once a card is on file in **Billing**. [Why a card is needed](/help/getting-started/go-live-add-a-card).

## Steps for your phone company

Type your Vocenya number once and every code below fills in, ready to copy. Dial the code from the phone that has your business number.

Replace [your 10-digit Vocenya number] with the number shown in Vocenya, digits only.

## AT&T

1. **Turn on forwarding.** From your business phone, dial this code and press call. Wait for the confirmation tone or message, then hang up. Code: `**21*1[your 10-digit Vocenya number]#`
2. **Test it.** Tap "Test my forwarding", or call your business number from another phone. Your Vocenya receptionist should answer.

Dial ##21# to stop forwarding.

1. **Google Voice cannot forward to Vocenya reliably.** Google Voice rings linked numbers at the same time as your phone, has no "ring me first" option, and does not support forwarding to automated answering such as your receptionist.
2. **Move your number to Vocenya instead.** Moving (porting) your Google Voice number to Vocenya keeps the number your customers know, and your receptionist answers it directly.

**Turn it off:**

## Don't see your phone company?

Try the steps under **Any other phone company** above: that code works on most US lines. If it doesn't work on yours, call your phone company and ask them to forward all calls to your Vocenya number. Then [check that forwarding works](/help/phone-forwarding/check-forwarding-works).

## Forward every call, or only the ones you miss?

These steps send every call to Vocenya. If you want your phone to ring first, read [ring first vs answer every call](/help/phone-forwarding/ring-first-or-answer-every-call).
