Slack
Post new leads, missed calls, chats waiting for your team, bookings and messages to a Slack channel, with a link to each one in Vocenya.
The Slack integration posts to one channel of your choice whenever something your team should see happens. No code or API key is needed: an account owner sets it up in the portal.
Set it up
- In Vocenya, open Integrations and click Add to Slack under Team apps.
- Sign in to your Slack workspace and allow Vocenya to post messages and see the channel list.
- Back on the Integrations page, choose the channel and the events, then Save.
Vocenya can post in any public channel without joining it. For a private channel, invite the app first by typing /invite @Vocenya in the channel, then refresh the Integrations page so it appears in the list.
Events
| Event | Posted when |
|---|---|
| New lead | Your receptionist, website chat, an intake form or the API captured a lead. |
| Missed call | A caller hung up before anyone answered. |
| Live chat waiting for a person | A website visitor or the AI asked for a person in a chat. |
| New booking | Your receptionist booked an appointment. |
| Message or voicemail taken | A GH Live agent took a message for you. |
New lead, missed call and live chat waiting are on when you first connect. Each message has an Open in Vocenya button that goes straight to the call, chat or leads list. Calls from your blocked callers list and test-mode data (from vk_test_ keys) are never posted.
What a message contains
For most accounts a message shows the caller's name and number, the reason for the call or the chat's handoff summary, and details like the appointment time.
HIPAA mode: messages never contain patient information. They say what happened, show only the area code and last four digits of the number, and link to Vocenya, for example:
Missed call from (512) •••-0147 — open in Vocenya to see the details.Names, emails, transcripts, summaries, lead reasons and agent notes stay in Vocenya. Because nothing protected is sent, Slack does not need a Business Associate Agreement.
Troubleshooting
- "Vocenya cannot post in #channel": the channel was archived, or it is private and the app is not a member. Invite the app or pick another channel and save; the card turns back to Connected.
- "Slack refused access": the app was removed from the workspace. Click Reconnect Slack.
- Disconnect on the Integrations page uninstalls the app from your workspace.
