Your main language

Every call starts in your main language. You choose it at signup, and can change it on the Receptionist page under Language & AI disclosure.

Answering in the caller's language

On the Voice card, Answer callers in their language is on by default. When a caller speaks another language your voice supports, your receptionist switches to it. Very short replies, like "yes", have to repeat before it switches.

Turn it off to always answer in your main language. A caller who speaks another language is then offered a callback.

If a caller speaks a language it doesn't support, it tells them which languages it can help in.

Which plans speak which languages

  • Studio voices (Starter, Growth and Pro) answer in many languages.
  • The Value plan answers in English and Spanish.
  • HIPAA mode answers in English and Spanish, on voices covered by our business associate agreement.

See the full list on our languages page.

Summaries

Call summaries are always written in English, so you can read every call. If the call was in another language, the summary says which.
