How to forward calls on Google Voice to Vocenya
Updated
In short
On voice.google.com, open Settings, then Calls. Add your Vocenya number as a linked number and turn on forwarding to it.
Forwarding sends the calls to your Google Voice business number on to your Vocenya number. Your AI receptionist answers them. Callers keep dialing the number they already know.
Google Voice forwarding is set on voice.google.com, not with a dial code.
Before you start
- Find your Vocenya number. It is on your Overview page in Vocenya.
- Add a card in Billing if you haven't yet. The forwarding steps in Vocenya appear once a card is on file. Why.
- Have another phone nearby for the test at the end.
Type it once and the codes below fill in, ready to copy. It is on the Overview page in Vocenya. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.
Turn on forwarding
Google Voice cannot forward to Vocenya reliably
Google Voice rings linked numbers at the same time as your phone, has no "ring me first" option, and does not support forwarding to automated answering such as your receptionist.
Move your number to Vocenya instead
Moving (porting) your Google Voice number to Vocenya keeps the number your customers know, and your receptionist answers it directly.
If it doesn't work
Google Voice accounts managed by a company may have these settings controlled by your Google Workspace admin. Then check that forwarding works.
